Yanno, I used to have one-subject posts. The main issue of the day, distilled and discussed. These days, I keep a draft of all the shit nuggets, hoping to have the time to catch up and summarize each in a news digest while still working in the background (or at least, in my brain) on a one-subject piece.
There are a lot of shit nuggets.
I never get back to my one-subjecters!
I have had a post in the works for months about the War on Trans People.
I want to dedicate space to discuss more of the Dementia angle. There's been so much more evidence lately!
And yet, I have a page full of notes from December, merely a month ago but a decade ago. And that doesn't even count the first not-quite three weeks in January, when it feels like our Country is teetering on a precipice.
It doesn't help that I've been busy being a human (not a bad thing at all, just not helpful to a blogger's life!), doing other writing, binging "The Pitt," and sometimes avoiding the news altogether.
I'm committed to making this blog a record of our history, though, so please indulge me as we delve into issues we faced eons ago, in December, 2025. I'll try to catch us up quickly and then I'll get back to some more focused posts (if I write my goals down, they are more likely to happen!). Forgive me if I don't organize these. And my usual disclaimer: I'm sure I missed something. There's just too much.
Buckle in.

ICE/Immigration/The Great Cleansing
Ay-yai-yai. Where do we start?
It's not about immigration anymore, so that charade word should be tossed. It's about systematically hunting and removing people of color.
Let's call it what it is: It's a pogrom.
I'll do my best to unpack the good, the bad, and the ugly over the last couple months.
There had been some pushback on ICE activities in December. First, a federal judge ruled that ICE must allow unannounced detention center inspections by Congress.
How quaint! As if the masked gestapo are interested in following any little judicial order. They are shredding the Constitution and they don't care.
This was today:
I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers. I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.
— Chris Murphy (@chrismurphyct.bsky.social) January 20, 2026 at 2:21 PM

ICE thugs don't care who they kill in broad daylight. They don't care who they kill in a detention center in Texas. They don't care who they kill in a detention center in Texas again. And when they kill another one in a detention center in Texas, they don't care some more. They don't care who they maim in Los Angeles either. They don't care of they kill in Indio, CA.
There will be no justice until they are all brought before The Hague.
California has passed a law disallowing federal officers to wear face masks and requiring officers to wear identification. The regime, of course, is asking the courts to overturn this.
There's been a kurfuffle over immigrant truck drivers, particularly those who live in California.
Earlier in the year, Transportation Secretary Sean Dummy revoked $40 million in funding to California for not enforcing English proficiency for drivers.
In November, immigrant truckers were told that their driver licenses would be revoked by the end of the year. The federal government decided that immigrant truck drivers whose visas had exprired should have their licenses revoked. The immigrant truckers in California decided to sue California's DMV.
In response, California agreed to give the truckers 60 days' extension to come into compliance and would reissue their licenses.
The Feds didn't like that, and revoked $160 million more from California's coffers.
Numbers crunchers have found that immigration raids have increased the number of job losses throughout California. I have no doubt it is the same in many states.
It was a horrible set of murders on the East Coast. A disgruntled former grad student, originally from Portugal and who had studied in the U.S. in the year 2000 had been plotting and planning for years to commit violence. He targeted random students at MIT and against his former schoolmate and current professor at Brown.
Drumpf jumped on the tragedy and used it as an excuse to suspend the Green Card lottery, which the suspect had used to come to the United States a quarter century ago.
This month, Dumpy suspended immigrant visas for people from 75 countries around the world, the people from countries that he thinks will need public assistance. You know, them "shithole countries." Here's the whole list.
The immigration crisis is only going to get worse as judges are leaving the bench in droves. It's estimated that 25% of federal immigration judges in California have been fired or quit or retired.
Judges. Who needs 'em, amirite?
The number of detainees has broken a record. The U.S. now has 73,000 under detention, an 84% increase over this time last year.
Where are they putting all of those people? Anywhere they can; there are now plans to use warehouses to keep their hostages.
Who is benefitting from this? Private prisons. They will suck the money out of Miss Liberty's teat, enriching their already-rich shareholders. They will abuse and neglect detainees in the name of cruelty and the almighty dollar. They're already doing this. Thousands and thousands of humans will suffer.
We told you! We told you! We told you!
Shall we revisit the time that this was perpetrated before? Headline: Alabama uses Japanese American Internment era law to charge immigrants who don’t self-register
I'm getting sick to my stomach, but let's press on.
Individual ICE events are too many to list. This one was especially egregious.
A family – parents and six children, the youngest being six months old – were on their way home from a basketball game in Minneapolis when they caught stuck in a protest (the protest deserves its own blurb here: it was over the shooting of a Venezuelan immigrant).
Their car couldn't move. Suddenly they heard the bang of a flash-bang and their car moved from the force of the it, enough to deploy all of the air bags. The vehicle soon began filling up with tear gas.
They all evacuated the car to a nearby home, and the baby was found to have stopped breathing. Mom started CPR and someone called 911. The baby recovered, thank goodness, and everyone was fine physically, but the family members will all live with the emotional scars of that night forever.
Especially when the initial official response to the event was to blame the family.
Another example. This is just one of many.
@cnn Video shows the moment Ramon Menera was detained outside his home in a Minneapolis suburb on Wednesday in front of his 5-year-old daughter after a US Border Patrol agent accused him of not being a US citizen because of his accent. #CNN #News #BorderPatrol #Minnesota ♬ original sound - CNN
And this one. What the actual hell, using a battering ram to break down a citizen's door, and pulling him out to the snowy front yard in his slippers and underwear?!
They continue kidnapping Native Americans. What part of native do you not understand?
THEY ARE IDIOTS AND I HATE THEM!
Four members of the Oglala tribe were abducted and detained in Minneapolis. Three of them are still missing.
My heart is breaking.
The Worst of it is in Minneapolis following the murder of Renee Good
As you've read, much of the ICE atrocity is coming from Minneapolis. It's bad, my friends.
After Renee Good was murdered, this scum saw fit to destroy a memorial to her. Just cruel and unnecessary.
ICE Barbie was incensed at the "doxxing" of the murderer, Jonathan Ross, on CBS's Face the Nation. Gawd I cannot hate this woman any more.
Clip starts there:
Jonathan Ross is a murderer. Jonathan Ross is a murderer. Jonathan Ross is a murderer.
Wait what? I agree with Fucker Carlson again?
Carlson came down on conservatives who were vilifying Good, calling it a "human tragedy" and writing in a newsletter to his followers, "Her death is a tragedy, regardless of her partisan affiliations, ideological beliefs, or who pulled the trigger. A woman got shot in the face.”
The newest bullshit from the regime is that the murderer suffered "internal bleeding" during the incident. My ass.
The only internal bleeding was from me sticking forks in my eyes to keep from seeing all this bullshit.
Again, it seems so stoopid to have to state the obvious, but for the record:
- The vehicle was going 1 mile per hour,
- Jonathan Ross was able to step out enough to fire three precise kill shots.
- Jonathan Ross walked away. Jonathan Ross walked to a vehicle and was taken from the scene to a federal building, not a hospital.
- There have been no medical records produced to illustrate any injuries to the scumbag, whose name is Jonathan Ross.
Guess which media outlet was the first to float this asinine theory? None other than CBS, who we cannot trust.
There was a protest that interrupted a church service. The minister is an ICE officer. The feds are investigating the incident.
This is the country we have. Where the feds blame the victim for being murdered by one of their own, and pull out all stops for an investigation into a church service being peacefully interrupted.
A little good: Minnesota is resisting.
There have been daily, vigorous, peaceful protests.
People are not standing for the shit that ICE is bringing. The streets are full of people blowing whistles, honking horns, taunting ICE officers.
This is how to resist, my friends:
@goodmorningbadnews Portland, OR - Immigration attorney Alicia Vial Beesley took this video after she received a call from a client that ICE had come to their home, lying to them and saying they had a right to arrest them. By demanding a warrant and questioning their legal authority, she was able to make them leave within five minutes. As she wrote, "If you don’t like the F word more than you don’t like people getting kidnapped you may not want to watch this video." via @vidalegalservices #goodmorningbadnews #iceout #iceisillegal #portland #oregon ♬ original sound - Good Morning, Bad News
Businesses are resisting
Hotels are cancelling reservations in St. Paul and Minneapolis,
Restaurants locking their doors and opening them only to non-ICE customers.
Sadly, due to threats to their employees, many restaurants are struggling to stay afloat.
Businesses are also putting up these signs:
Oh, ho! Who is for masks now? Weren't you the ones crying about it when we were asking you to mask up for our health and safety? Now that you are ready to anonymously destroy society, you're all for them.
This was an awful story. Recently, some ICE officers dined at a restaurant. They came back at closing time and took away many of the restaurant's employees. So fucked up.
I'm not the only one who thinks ICE is fucked up. A federal judge saw fit to issue a ruling that reminds those fuckers to follow the law and stop using excessive force.
And get this: as I write this, the regime is reading an Army battalion to head to Minnesota. Duh Furor has ordered 1,500 troops to be on standby. There is chatter that he will invoke the Insurrection Act.
This could get very ugly.

Greenland
OK it is getting ridiculous, weird, and alarming.
The Felon wants to grab Greenland by the pussy.
Denmark is not having it. Europe is not having it. We are not having it.
![]() |
What is this "Venezuela" you speak of? We're hit with such an onslaught of crises that we can't keep up with last week's.
European nations are standing up and saying, "NO!" Citizens are protesting. Nations are sending troops to Greenland.
And for that, European nations are being threatened with tariffs. OMFG. Thanks to his floating more tariffs as punishment for Europe's pushback, the markets tanked Monday, losing more wealth in one day than Greenland's resources are worth.
Are we winning yet?
There have been protests all over Europe, but particularly in Greenland and in Denmark, who owns Greenland. They have taken to wearing their own red hats. I love it!

MAGA!
He's really ramping up the rhetoric, claiming he'll take Greenland by any means necessary.
I heard chatter about members of the GOP telling him that if he uses military force in Greenland, he will be impeached.
It already sounded ridiculous. A member of NATO attacking another member of NATO? How does that work? But you know Dear Leader. Ridiculous isn't enough. He has to ramp it up to Imbecilic.
He sent this to Denmark's Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Stoere, after Stoere sent him a message asking to meet to discuss deescalating the situation.
The Idiot-in-Chief wrote:
"Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a "right of ownership" anyway? There are no written documents, it's only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT"
Ok. This is awful. So much wrong.
First, it's a committee, not a country, who bestows the Nobel Prizes. Secondly, the committee is in NORWAY not DENMARK you fucking idiot.
Thirdly, really??? You are ready to invade a sovereign nation – one that we actually have a strong military presence in already – because you got pee-pee hurt?
Can we please 86 this guy? Now? Where's Vance? Let's 25th Amendment the shit out of him right now.
The Epstein Files
Remember them?
A tiny fraction of the Epstein Files were released on the mandated deadline of December 20, and none since then.
The released files were heavily redacted even to complete pages coming out black. Idiots that they are, though, the redactions were simply blacked out, and by copy and pasting into a new document, they were perfectly readable.
It's an administration of morons. Which, to be honest, may be our saving grace. What would the world look like if they were smart?
The law mandating the release reads that redactions can be made to protect the identity of the victims. As we read through the entirety of the first tranche, we realized that they considered powerful pedophiles the victims.
It's been a month since Congress passed – and 47 signed – the law to release them, but there has been no more since the 0.6% of the available documents were given to the public.
What's a little ol' law got to do with anything anyway?
Finally, the co-sponsors of the original bill to release the files, Reps. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), have pushed for a judicial order to appoint an independent monitor to oversee the release. The regime's prosecutor has said that the judge should have no say and filed a motion to block an appointment for a monitor.
WTAF?
Capitulations
The powerful, and the powerful-wannabes, continue to bend a knee.
One of those is CBS. CBS's downfall started in September, when new owner David Ellison got new cushy kneepads to prepare for placating Dear Leader.
Then last month, a critical piece about the U.S.'s actions in sending immigrants to CECOT in El Salvador, set to air on 60 Minutes, was killed last-minute by new newsroom chief Bari Weiss.
Weiss is unabashedly acting on behalf of Dear Leader. Another one bites the dust. We cannot trust CBS any longer.
There was a huge backlash to the CECOT story's murder, though it was able to be viewed on Canadian TV, and people flocked to watch.
What kind of country is it where we have to seek out information on foreign news sources?
Weiss finally allowed the piece to air this past Sunday night. Watch it here. Way to Barbra Streisand Effect the shit out of that monstrous situation, Weiss.
CBS continues to act as the regime's mouthpiece. KKKaroline Leavitt threatened them just today with consequences if they didn't fall in line. Headline: Leavitt told CBS News that Trump would sue if his interview was cut short on air: Reports
More stuff to catch up on
I touched on Rob Reiner's murder shortly after it happened. T****'s response hit new low. The depth of depravity really go deep in this soulless worm. It’s hard to find the words anymore. He had posted an odious tweet, which I won't repeat here.
After everybody, even members of his own party, condemned his message, he doubled down a few days later.
When asked if he stood by his non-tweet in the face of many in the GOP condemning it, he said, he said, "I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned."
The Great Facism Creep continues. The Great State of Texas plans to install Turning Point USA in high schools. Gov. Greg Abbot has gone so far as to overtly threaten any school district that resists, saying, "Let me be clear: Any school that stands in the way of a Club America program in their school should be reported immediately to the Texas Education Agency." Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has pledged $1 million from his campaign funds to make sure it happens.

How is that legal?!
American Companies are going under, thanks to tariffs.
- iRobot, the maker of Roomba devices, has declared bankruptcy in large part due to tariffs. The manufacturer, located in China, is taking over the company.
- Jim Beam is closing their flagship distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. Whiskey consumption is down, and tariffs have hit the industry hard by retaliatory bans on American whiskey by, for example, Canada, who has pretty much stopped all imports of American whiskey.
- 700 More. Some 700 American companies have been forced to shutter due to tariffs.
Get Your Umbrella Out. Here are More Shit Nuggets
- SCOTUS has ruled that the regime may not keep National Guard troops to Chicago. This all goes kablooey if he invokes the Insurrection Act, though. Then he can bring in regular military troops.
- The National Parks Are in a world of hurt.
First, their beauty was sullied by DonOld declaring that his ugly mug shall adorn the passes. Then, they upped the admission cost to 11 parks for nonresidents. Park rangers will be put in the position to ask entrants if they are residents. If not, they will have to pay $100 more for entry, on top of the $11-$25 fee. Additionally, an annual pass will cost a nonresident $250, instead of the usual $80.
Yay for making the world hate us even more?
Speaking of Annual Park passes, "Thank. Gawd." was all I had to say when I opened my envelope containing my lifetime senior pass last week:
- The FBI raided the home of a WaPo reporter. This is both an assault on the freedom of the press and a strike against the credibility of a once-trustworthy law enforcement agency. Do we trust any investigation that they do anymore?
- Traitor Tot made his first vetoes of this term. The bills were bipartisan and concerned natural resources. One was brought to bear by Lauren Boebert, a onetime bootlicker. It concerned clean water in Colorado. The other bill he quashed had to do with the Miccosukee Tribe and their ability to control their own tribal land. They had opposed the building of "Alligator Alcatraz," so of course he blocked legislation designed to help them.
- Hair Twitler moved to freeze food stamps in Minnesota. A judge blocked the plan for now.
- 🚼 put Stephen Colbert in the crosshairs – literally. In a non-tweet, he said Colbert should be "put to sleep."
- Lindsey Halligan is still working as US Attorney. WTAF? A judge said she is disqualified. Go home, Lindsey! Breaking: finally, she has left the position after several judges pressed for answers as to why she was still working at the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of Virginia.
- The Conman-in-Chief pardoned a fraudster for the second time. In his first term, he commuted her sentence. She went on to crime some more. Have no fear, Adriana Camberos! You are his people! He loves them fraudsters!
- The enemies list grows. He is setting his rabid dogs on Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Waaaaa! The Fed won't lower interest rates faster! Get him, dogs! Get him!
- The enemies list grows even longer. He is going after Sen. Elissa Slotkin, one of the lawmakers who made a video reminding service members that they don't have to follow illegal orders. This, after the regime started an investigation into her college, Sen. Mark Kelly.
- SCROTUS told Reuters that he would like to cancel the midterm elections. Oh, whew he was only joking. Ha ha, we know he would never ever try something like that. Right?
Never Forget
47 still wants to re-write history. He continues whitewashing the events of January 6. Well guess what? We are not forgetting what we saw with our own eyes.
And neither is NPR. Here is a wonderfully designed, interactive comprehensive database of the events and the aftermath of the day. We know the truth, and we won't forget.
Positives and Resistance
I am elated that the Santa Barbara News-Press is back! It was a sad story of oligarchs, editorial interference, labor violations, staff departures, reader boycotts, and bankruptcy, with the death of the once-storied, Pulitzer-prize winning, second-oldest California newspaper at the end of it.
Last year, NEWSWELL, a nonprofit news organization, bought the skeleton and is breathing life into the News-Press once again! The newspaper is headed by esteemed local journalist Josh Molina. It will be great to have another press outlet for our community. The Independent, Noozhawk, and EdHat have held up the timbers well, but we are so happy to have the News-Press back in operation.
There is no statute of limitations for murder. Someday, Jonathan Ross – yes, I said his name: Jonathan Ross Jonathan Ross Jonathan Ross – will face justice.
Jack Smith's testimony. The story was a bit lost when the Great Distraction Side-Show Tent was erected. Smith testified to Congress in an 8-hour closed-door interview. Both the full video and the transcript that was released show that Smith had evidence that the actions The Felon took placed sole responsibility on him for the insurrection that occurred on January 6, 2021. Politico describes some takeaways of the day's testimony.
Smith will testify again – this time in public – on Thursday, January 22. Get your popcorn ready.
The first thing Abigail Spanberger did after being sworn in as Governor of Virginia was repeal former Gov. Youngkin’s executive order requiring state and local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.
Go, Abigail!
This Massachusetts bakery is resisting. The bakery posted the below to social media.
Bad news: death threats and other threats of violence were swift. Good news: the bakery sold out of their FUCK ICE cookies, along with every last cookie and cake, within hours. They had to close the store early. Today, they are continuing to bake the cookies.
Quote from the owner: "imagine sending me death threats, threatening my family AND CHILDREN, and calling ME deranged… while I’m just over here baking cookies.”
This was golden.
Let's not ever let this Nazi take a piss in peace.
This was brilliant. Toby Morton, a writer for South Park had the foresight back in August to buy the website domain names TrumpKennedyCenter.org and TrumpKennedyCenter.com. The first one is live. Go ahead, click the link. Enjoy.
Artists are standing up. More than a dozen artists have backed out of their scheduled Kennedy Center appearances in protest against the hostile takeover by The Orange Menace.
We marked Martin Luther King Jr Day this week.
A jury found the homeless guy not guilty. United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pino personally brought the case, and boy did she get a shellacking. The jury took 35 minutes to find the man not guilty for shining a laser cat toy at a The Felon's helicopter.

The rogue sculptors strike again. This was installed on the National Mall this week:
The Black Panthers are back, baby. An armed black panther group showed up at a protest in Philly. Videos have been circulating, like those below. I absolutely despise firearms, but I have to tell you, seeing this makes my heart sing.
ACTION
You don't have to arm up to make a difference, Resisters. There are lots of ways to take action, and we need all of them.
Protest
Find a local protest and go. This one popped up today, hosted by our local Women's March organization on the anniversary of Inaguration Day.
The gaterhing was not huge, but fairly well attended by passionate protestors. I didn't have time to make a sign at home, but I grabbed my pink pussy hat, made a sign with their supplies, and marched.
The guy in the white T-shirt was getting red faced as he spat mean words to the protestors. We ignored him, but the police didn't. They had him stand for a while and calm down. Thank you, SBPD!
The protest was breaking up, but this man kept on.
Boycotts work. Read this article and see how you can boycott the corporate side of ICE.
Robert Reich has ideas for activism this year.
Help Minnesotans by sending funds to one of the many aid organizations that are helping the resistance there. There are many ways to help, from helping pay for tow trucks, to helping food banks, to helping schoolchildren, to buying diapers, to helping protect indigenous communities. Coming soon: Another look at Dementia Don.
