Every day, something new and more bizarro dribbles out. It's almost as if they have given up and are just going full balls-to-the-wall, throwing up anything and everything. Cuz they can't possibly think they are making points with the American voters, can they?
I'll try to run them down for you.
The Springfield Shit Show
They insist on using the legal immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio, as their pawns, damn the consequences. Jackass O'Lantern and the Hillbilly Enemy have been tripling, quadrupling, and googolpling down on immigrants from "Haitia" eating pets and spreading disease. Yes, you read that right. JD thinks Haitians are from Haitia.
I'm starting this Colbert clip at Vance's remarks, but as usual it's worth the whole 11-minute watch, so back it up and start at the beginning, too!
And then, Vance accidentally admitted that he is just making it all up to get the press's attention. He said, in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash, "If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that's what I'm going to do."

Everyone knows so! The Springfield police have denounced the lies. The Mayor of Springfield has denounced the lies. The Governor of Ohio has denounced the lies. The lady who started the rumors by accusing her Haitian neighbors of taking her cat, Miss Sassy? She apologized and reported that Miss Sassy was found safe and sound in her own basement.
Make it stop!
The lies have dire consequences.
- Nazis are strutting around town and the KKK have been spreading their filth.
- There have been increased numbers of bomb threats and threats of violence in Springfield. City buildings, schools, and now hospitals have been threatened.
- State troopers have been called in to protect the schools. Great.
- Haitian residents are having their windows smashed and acid being thrown on cars. As they huddle inside, Moira Donegan of The Guardian is calling it like it is: the makings of a pogrom.
Jabba the Gut cannot bring his mouth to denounce threats of violence:
Reporter: “Do you denounce the bomb threats in Springfield, Ohio?”
Donny: “I don’t know what happened with the bomb threats. I know that it’s been taken over by illegal migrants, and that’s a terrible thing that happened. Springfield was a beautiful town and now they are going through hell."

They are calling it another "assassination attempt." Another nut-job was able to get close to where the 45th president* was going to be playing golf. The Secret Service had failed to secure the perimeter of the course, and when an agent scouted ahead of the golfer, he spotted a rifle poking out of the shrubbery. The agent fired shots – the only shots that were fired – and the man who had been camping out in the bushes for 12 hours fled in a car. He was caught shortly afterwards.
No one was injured.
This guy had a political history all over the map. He is registered unaffiliated with a party; he has voted in a Democratic primary. He was a Drumpf supporter before turning against him, and there is noise about him supporting Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, and Nikki Haley. He has an extensive criminal background. He has pie-in-the-sky ideas about the war in Ukraine. He's a nut case.
I don't want to be victim-blaming, but maybe TRUMP should think about stopping the outdoor prances. The Secret Service doesn't like it when he's out and exposed, and the crackpots love it.
The Diapered One and his best boy JD want everyone to believe that it is Harris's and Walz's rhetoric that drove the whacko to make a motion to appear to want to shoot across a golf course. Spare me.

The Polls have been amazing. I wish I would stop looking at them. Why? Because polls don't vote, and we can't sit back and think that other people are going to do the work for us. Every single one of us must make it to the ballot box. Every 👏 single 👏 one 👏!
Still, it feels good to see the numbers, particularly in very very important swing states. The newest Quinnipiac University Poll:
- PENNSYLVANIA: Harris 51%, Trump 45%; +/- 2.7 points
- MICHIGAN: Harris 50%, Trump 45%; +/- 3.3 points
- WISCONSIN: Harris 48%, Trump 47%; +/- 3.0 points
Look at these numbers, enjoy them, bask in them for five minutes, and then forget them. Make a plan to vote. Help your friends and family make a plan to vote. Do. Not. Rest.

Deadlines are coming up fast. Check the states where you or your loved ones live. Make sure you and they are still on the voter rolls. Register new voters, too!

You may have noticed that I don't post anything about RFK, Jr. It's mostly because I think he's irrelevant. Also I hate that he shares a name and genes with the great Bobby Kennedy. But this one made me chuckle, so this may be the only meme you'll get of that cave dweller.
