This Week in America's Large Intestine

I had planned a post about Don the Con's psychopathy. Exploring that subject is a deep, dark journey. I realized it's a journey I took in early 2020, so if you want a refresher on the Dark Triad of traits he possesses, it is in my post entitled, "'Things gained through unjust fraud are never secure.'- – Sophocles"

Today instead, we have another look at American's large intestine and the contents within.

Politicizing tragedy
Florida is bracing for another monster storm. It's hard to fathom the destruction that this Milton will bring. It's due to land on the Gulf Coast of Florida on Wednesday night, just a couple weeks after Helene devastated the South. King GertRUDE already put his stinkin' paws all over the recovery efforts of Helene, with his dangerous lies about the federal response. Let's hope he keeps his yap trap about Milton.

I'm just gonna put this one fruitcake tweet here, posted last week, after Helene had roared through the south:

Hon, turn off Disney+. We're not here to discuss the plausibility of the plot of Frozen.

Let's fight back against the lies!

Profile in Courage
Clay Bennett

Liz Cheney not only endorsed Kamala Harris, she is actually campaigning with her. She gave up her career in the House by standing up to the Orange Menace. Now, she goes further in her fight for our democracy. I don't like her policies. I don't like her dad at all. But she is an American patriot.

Do you think she may be the one Republican that Kamala wants to add to her cabinet?

The Media Blitz
Kamala finally got on the media campaign trail, with visits to Howard Stern; the podcast "Call Her Daddy," which is an extremely popular podcast, especially with women; The View (hello again, women!);  she even popped a beer with Stephen Colbert (there are more clips, by the way. Pop over to The Late Show's video list on YouTube).

I loved her line on "Call Her Daddy" when she again empowered women. No need to aspire to be humble, ladies! See this moment, talking about Sarah Huckabee's dig a couple weeks ago:

Harris also appeared on 60 Minutes. It is a half-century tradition for every presidential candidate to appear there in October. Dingus Con, however, declined the invitation. They were going to fact-check him, and who wants that third-rate kind of environment? Forget that shit!

Speaking of Media
The media has been criticized for sane-washing the 45th president* by bending over backwards to cover him like he is some sort of rational human being. The New York Times has not had the least of the criticism. They've started to turn around a tad. For example, they published this piece, which analyzes his rallies. It's a decent analysis.

You are nearly there, NYT. Next time, don't bury the lede. Starting with "protector" language and ending with dictator traits and neurological disorders is disingenuous at the least and dangerous!

Peters Sentencing
Meet Tina Peters, the former County Clerk in Mesa County, Colorado. This lady is just one of the many MAGAt maniacs out there. She was found guilty recently by a jury of her peers for committing fraud surrounding voting machines in her county. She allowed an unauthorized person to access the machines after the 2020 election. That person was associated with Mike Lindell, that weird pillow guy. Her actions led to threats of violence against Colorado elections workers.

According to the Associated Press, she was "convicted of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state." She was acquitted of "identity theft, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation and one count of criminal impersonation. Yet she persisted on social media to accuse Colorado-based Dominion Voting Systems, which made her county’s election system, and others of stealing votes."

Peters was a small cog in the big ol' Coup Machine. She reveled in her role and is 100% defiant. She truly feels that she was "serving the citizens of Mesa County" as she subverted the 2020 election.

Even after her conviction, she continued the lies, up until and including the time she came to be sentenced. Here is her 40-minute diatribe that preceded her sentencing.

District Judge Matthew Barrett was having none of it. He dressed her down thoroughly during her sentencing hearing. He sentenced her to nine years in prison.

It's worth the watch.

Melania Speaks
Melania has a book coming out. It's titled, very creatively, "Melania."

What is interesting is that in the book and in a promo video for it, she speaks her mind about her belief in a woman's right to choose. Here is her kinda weird promo video, but good words underneath it all. You gotta wonder what their conversations are like as she and her <shudder> husband enjoy a bucket of KFC together.

Monica Hesse in The Washington Post has more in her review of this ....well, this weird little memoir.

Oppressors gonna Oppress
Two pieces of feculence this week on the Dictator Front.

Take a gander at this white supremacist Nazi KKK shit:

And secondly, Bob Woodward spills the beans again.
Woodward has a new book coming out, titled, "War." In it, he cites an unnamed aide who said that Hair Furher has spoken to his Vladdie at least seven times since leaving office. And more, he sent Covid testing equipment to Putie the Cutie for his personal use in 2020, at a time when tests were scarce and ordinary Americans had difficulty obtaining them.

Jack Ohman

When asked to comment, Dumpty's campaign communications director Steven Cheung smeared Woodward by calling him “a total sleazebag” who is “slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality,” Cheung did not, however, deny any of the allegations in the book.

Grifters Gonna Grift

If you missed the Bible, the shoes, the NFTs, the shares in a failing social media company, the $30 silver coin sold for $100, or the $100,000 wristwatch that may or may not be shipped before you lay in your grave, you can buy this for the low, low price of $59.99.

Not sold in stores!
Molded resin!
Bronze tones!
Celebrates the fact that gawd intervened to send the bullets into innocent bystanders, and making one audience member a widow!

Gotta love our sweet Oklahoma
Have you seen the story about Oklahoma State Schools Superintendent Ryan Walters? Bless his pea-pickin' heart.

Mr. Walters wants to place a Bible in every classroom in the state. The Bible he wants has veeeery exact specifications. His bid sheet lists the requirements:
  • The Bibles must be the King James version
  • They must contain the Old and New Testaments
  • They must include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights
  • They must not contain study guides, publisher narration, or additional commentary
  • They must be bound "leather or leather-like material"
One vendor, Mardel Christian & Education, has 2900 Bibles available to choose from. Not one of them satisfies this list of requirements. You know what Bible does satisfy this list of requirements? None other than the Lee Greenwood "God Bless the USA" Bible, sold for the biblical price of $59.99, marketed and profited by the one and only 45th president* of the United States.

Nevermind that a regular paperback King James Bible can be had for three bucks.

Not only does Walters want to line the pocket of his Dear Leader with the purchase of these books, he wants to buy 55,000 Bibles for the 43,000 classrooms in Oklahoma. That's $3.3 million dollars, people.

AND! Don't even get me started on the separation of church and state part of this stupid scheme!

&^%$≥@#%&!!

Gotta laugh to keep from crying
I am sharing a couple videos today. I'll save memes and 'toons for another time.

Stumbled on this strange little AI gem:

And lastly, here's James Donut Vance doing his thing:
